Maura Farrell is a psychotherapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
She has over 20 years experience at various levels of care treating addictions and supporting recovery including individual counseling and therapy, family work, group therapy, psychoeducation and clinical supervision.
She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Temple University, and her Graduate degree at Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. She is completing her PhD dissertation at Widener University.
Additionally, she has completed specialty training related to EMDR, Conferencing, Clinical Supervision, Interventions and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Maura believes that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for change and will provide support and validation, and promote growth. Her theoretical approaches include solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology, mindfulness training, motivational interviewing and EMDR.
Her specialty areas include the treatment of Substance Use Disorders, Trauma Reactions and PTSD, Grief and Loss, Women’s issues, Adjustment and Mood disorders.
She has an affinity for treating Emergency Responders and Veterans.
